SSAAS was started in early 2007 by founders with an average of over 25 years experience in high technology: finding the right ideas, building products, growing in home markets and internationally to enabling successful software stories around the world.
Dave Berry
Dave is CEO of SSAAS. He has nearly 30 years experience in the software industry, having worked with blue chip organisations and software start ups. His recent roles have seen him build multiple sales channels and have included extensive European operational management. He has worked for IBM, BMC Software, Evolutionary Technologies, Acta Technology (acquired by Business Objects), Striva, Informatica (which acquired Striva), and most recently GoldenGate (acquired by Oracle). He has held the role of Senior Vice President/Vice President EMEA for the last five organisations. David studied for a Joint Honours in Mathematics and Chemistry at the University of Newcastle.
Rob Flintoff
Rob is CFO of SSAAS. Rob has over 30 years as a Finance Director in the High Tech Industry. Rob qualified with Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in 1979, leaving in 1984 to become European Financial Controller of GEAC. Rob has floated a number of companies, opened up new markets and territories, restructured tax operations, and held senior positions at several multi-national companies. He held the position of VP International Finance for BMC Software up to 1996 before becoming VP Finance EMEA . Here he grew the company by twenty five times to a turnover of over $600M, responsible for Finance, Controlling, Tax & Treasury. Rob gained a BA in Management Science (Business Studies) from the University of Warwick.
Andrew Turner
Andrew is EVP, Operations at SSAAS. He has over 25 years in the software industry, having worked with Global 2000 organisations, established and startup software authors and leading consulting organisations. His recent roles have seen him found, build organisations from initial idea through to private sale and listing on public markets. He has worked for GE, SAP, Idea Integration, Softa, Tesco plc (as COO of Tesco Mobile/Telecoms - the fastest growing MVNO globally), WANdisco (as VP EMEA, EVP, WW Field Operations) and Avisen (successfully listed on London AIM). Andrew is a certified member of the PDMA, studied for a BA (Hons) at University of Huddersfield and MBA at Ashridge.
Mark Adams
Mark is EVP, Sales at SSAAS. He has over 25 years in the Hi Tech, Software and Infrastructure industries, most recently leading the market expansion of Greenplum in EMEA as VP, Sales & Operations (Acquired by EMC in October 2010). Prior to Greenplum, he has driven strategic positioning, sales and deployments of solutions at IDBS (Global VP, Sales, Marketing & Services for drug discovery with major pharmaceutical and biotech organisations), Aspentech (VP, Europe supporting Manufacturing & Supply Chain Operations for major Process Industry manufacturers), eCredit (VP, EMEA then VP, Global for Credit scoring and transaction aggregation), Parametric Technology (VP Europe for Business Collaboration and CAD) and over eleven years in sales and commercial roles with Sun Microsystems. Mark has a BSc (Hons) in Aeronautical Engineering from University of Hertfordshire.
Matt Hicks
Matt is Chief Creative Officer at SSAAS. Matt has had a successful career in the Visual effects and Feature Film industry, being lucky enough to work on the productions of Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, The Chronicles of Narnia and Roland Emmerich's 10,000 BC. These films found him capturing the magical landcapes and actors on film sets in Pinewood studios, England and internationally in New Zealand and South Africa. Matt is our creative engine for SSAAS and helps to lead, shape and deliver the digital strategies that is increasingly important in any propositions go-to-market.
Mike Knowles
Mike is CIO at SSAAS. He has over 20 years experience in the IT arena, helping customers as diverse as five person startups to global organisations with over 100,000 employees. He has worked for Nortel (acquired by Avaya), Striva (acquired by Informatica), Informatica, Conchango (acquired by EMC), Red-M and Pentangle Internet as IT Director. He has considerable experience of global technology deployments and provides guidance and advise to our clients in helping them steer their way through the complexities of technology. Mike qualified in Software Engineering from Staffordshire University.
